To be fair we did get ours for free while spurs are having to fork over what, a billion for theirs.

An asymmetric stadium or a soulless bowl? We got the latter.

Saw some pics of it today on The Fighting Cock. If that place has cost that amount of money, I'd ask for a refund. I looks fucking comical. The seats are so steep that they will are almost looking at the pitch from a 180 degree angle. The stands are all different, so it has no symmetry whatsoever, it does have gaps at the sides which seem quite big and it barely has a roof. It does have a Cheese room and the worlds longest bar though, so hey......every cloud.
I'd be fucking furious if I had to pay a grand to watch football from that giant greenhouse.

It's only partially a football ground.

Can't see what the particular fuss is about Tottenham's ground. Everton will be no different. Any purpose built football stadium is going to infinitely trump a poorly converted shithouse of an athletics bowl.

Personally I think the only option is the one that I believe Sullivan and Brady had in mind ever since we were denied the opportunity to buy it, and that's to stuff the government with as bad a deal as possible until they finally wilt and sell the stadium to us to avoid losing tens of millions every year. Then we can do what we want with it.

Mentioned before but only option with our ground is to get permission to lose the track.
We can offer to keep the shelll of the stadium and us keeping a legacy and then build a smaller stadium within it.
Russia have done the same with their stadium in Moscow.

It'll be different from a lot of new grounds for a few reasons.
Firstly it's not just a bowl. The South stand will be it's own stand, and quite a bit exposed.
There will also be safe standing areas.
Also the roof is designed in such a way that there's literally no obstruction of the pitch. The design is only the second of its kind in the world, or something.
The fact the soccer pitch is meant to roll out over the NFL pitch will be quite impressive. Better than our "retractable seats" anyway.
Will be impressive when it's finished, and imo most modern grounds are shit

You'll be pleased to note that my love of all things England is overcoming my contempt for all things Tottenaham. But its a struggle, will need weeks of therapy and i'll be a lot happier if Rashford/Vardy came in and started scoring.

Let’s be honest, it will be and was always going to be a great stadium.
As weird as it sounds, we were put in a no-win situation with the Olympic Stadium. Either we moved in, as it was, or Spurs were going to move in and rebuild it. Either option was far from perfect.
Had a plan been put in place prior to the build - to convert it into a quality football stadium after the Olympics - then great, but Coe and his crew thought otherwise. Fuck all that can be done about that now though.

Capitol Man 2:04 Fri Jun 22 Re: Tottenham new ground Where is that $1bn ultimately going to come from?
Levy thought he was goingt o get 10's of millions a year from naming erights and the nFL
he's mnaged to get a guaranteed 2m a year from the above so it may take a while
still at a 1000 pounds for the cheapest ticket it will be the fans paying through the nose
